Edward Obin was born in Edmonton, Middlesex on 6 September 1896. He served first with the Royal Fusiliers in France from 1 June 1915 and later transferred to the Machine Gun Corps with no. 20282. He was reported Wounded in Action with the Royal Fusiliers on 20 March 1916 and again Wounded in Action with the MGC - reported on 12 May 1916.
He was discharged to the Reserve on 17 March 1919.
According to the 1939 Register he was a Press Shop Metal Roller living at 54 Canterbury Road, Merton, Surrey.
