British War Medal (LIEUT. B.C.Q. NORMAN.); Victory Medal (LIEUT. B.C.Q. NORMAN.) - with original cardboard boxes of issue and Memorial Scroll.

One of three brothers, the sons of Rev Denham Norman, who all fought in WWI - two of whom perished with Cyril being the only survivor.

Basil Chamberlin Qu'Appelle Norman was born in Stafford in 1888 and was educated at Marlborough College and Durham University. He enlisted into the 19th Royal Fusiliers in September 1914 and was commissioned into the 4th North Staffordshire Regiment whilst stationed at Guernsey. He was Wounded in Action whilst with the 8th North Staffs at La Boiselle on 3 July 1916 and again whilst serving with the 12th Battalion Hampshire Regiment in Salonica during an attack on 24/25 April 1917.

Having returned to the 4th Battalion North Staffs he was serving with them when he died of wounds on 30 September 1918 - on September 29, 1918, the 4th Battalion of the North Staffordshire Regiment, as part of the 137th Staffordshire Brigade, played a significant role in the Battle of the St. Quentin Canal, a pivotal event in the Hundred Days Offensive, by helping to break through the German Hindenburg Line. The brigade successfully attacked and captured the canal, which was a key part of the German defenses, marking a major breakthrough in the war on the Western Front.
