Frederick William Chapman was born in Cardiff on 27 January 1888. An Elementary School Teacher, he served with the Royal Garrison Artillery in Malta from. 1.12.1917. A Territorial Force member, he was promoted Acting Major while commanding a Battery in September 1917 and was awarded the Territorial Force War Medal. His medals were posted to 22 Shirley Road, Roath Park, Cardiff - this was his address in the 1921 Wales census. 

According to the 1939 Register he and his wife Gladys were living at 46 Homestead Road, Caterham in Surrey where he was still employed as an Elementary School Teacher.

The Teachers Registration Council which he joined on 1 June 1925 recorded that he had been educated at the University of South Wales and Monmouthshire Training College, Cardiff. He was at the Caterham Hill Council Boy's School in 1931.

Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold together with copied research.
