Ernest Powell Williams was born in Llanelly, Breconshire, Wales on 11 January 1898. He attested for service with the 1st South Wales Borderers on 12 March 1917 and was Wounded in Action (Gunshot Wound to the Right Shoulder) on 9 November 1917 for which he received treatment in the 31st Ambulance Train.
He was discharged, partially incapacitated, on 7 February 1919 and awarded the Silver War Badge no. B335041. His address on discharge was Avalon House, Clydach, Abergavenny.
According to the 1939 Register he was a Railway Porter and Signalman living at Maberne, Clydach, Gilwern, Crickhowell. He passed away in Clydach in 1965.
Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with research. The Silver War Badge is not included.
