James Edwin Francis was born in St Paul's, Bristol in 1872. He attested for service with the 1st Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry in 1892 seeing service with them in the Punjab in 1897 and towards the latter part of the Anglo Boer War. A Paperhanger by trade, he was discharged after 12 years with the Colours in 1904.
By 1921 he was a Cabinet Maker by trade, passing away in 1939 at the age of 68 in Bristol.
Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold together with copied research.
