Oliver James Hewlett was born in Churchill near Weston-super-Mare in 1874. He attested for service with the 1st Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry in 1895 and served in the Punjab campaign of 1897, going on to see service in the last few months of the Anglo Boer War. He took his discharge after 12 years service in 1907.
According to the 1939 Register he was living at 3 Cable Row in Hewish near Axbridge and was a Labourer, although incapacitated. He died in Hewish in 1951.
Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold together with copied research.
