Defence Medal; Special Constabulary Long Service Medal GVIR (WILLIAM H. ARNOLD) - with original boxes of issue, the Defence Medal addressed to Mr W.H. Arnold, 55 Coles Lane, Hilltop, West Bromwich.
William Harold Arnold was born in West Bromwich in 1906. He was a Spring Worker and Sergeant with the Special Constabulary and was a General Labourer when he died.
At the time of the 1939 Register he was a Spring Maker (Heavy Worker) and a Special Constable for West Bromwich living at 55 Coles Lane, West Bromwich - the same address his WWII medal was posted to.
He died at the age of 56 in February 1963 having been taken to hospital.
Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with some research including a slip for the Defence Medal signed by the Chief Constable, Staffordshire County Police and dated 3 May 1946 confirming that Arnold's claim for the medal had been approved. The SCM has 31 Staffordshire on the box.
