Special Constabulary Long Service Medal, issued from 28th May 1953 after the change of the Queen's titles. see London Gazette by clicking here
Instituted 30th August 1919 and awarded to all ranks of the Special Constabulary. The qualifying period was 9 years unpaid service with over 50 duties per year, war service with a minimum of 50 duties per year counted triple. Bars lettered "LONG SERVICE" with year are awarded for additional 10 year periods. Current second award clasps are lettered simply "LONG SERVICE"
