Alfred George Mansbridge was born in Gibraltar on 4 December 1887. He enlisted with the Kings Royal Rifle Corps at Winchester on 24 August 1906 and obtained a 2nd Class Certificate of Education on 26 July 1912. He served with his regiment, the 2nd Battalion, K.R.R.C., in WWI and was posted to France on 26 August 1914. Shortly thereafter, he was reported Wounded in Action on 25 September 1914 and, having been sent back to Blighty, was admitted to the Connaught Hospital in Aldershot.

Having survived the war, he was still serving with the K.R.R.C. in the 1921 England census. He was awarded the Army LSGCM in 1926 - the same year he was awarded a certificate congratulating him and all other ranks of the 2nd Battalion, K.R.R.C. for his shooting for the Royal Irish Cup "which contributed towards the winning of the Queen Victoria Trophy at Home."

According to the 1939 Register he was a Caretaker living at 16 Thames Street, Holborn.

Mansbridge passed away in Surrey on 23 August 1955.
