Despite his early enlistment with the 12th Battalion, Rifle Brigade on 9 September 1914, William Horne was only posted to the frontline in France on 21 July 1915. Not very long after that, on 7 October 1915, he was reported as being Wounded in Action.
The nature of his wounds were severe enough to warrant his discharge on 31 March 1916 and the award of the Silver War Badge (for wounds), no. 15312 which corresponds with that included with the medals.
Medals are in good condition unless otherwise indicated. Sold with research.
