Thomas Dunlop Lawson was born on 3 July 1894 in Scotland. He attested for the Seaforth Highlanders and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 11 August 1915. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Northumberland Fusiliers on 14 February 1917, and was wounded and taken Prisoner of War at Heudicourt, near Epéhy, on 22 March 1918, on the second day of the German Spring Offensive whilst with the 14th Service Battalion. For his services during the Great War was Mentioned in Despatches (London Gazette 23 May 1918).

His post-war address was Ivy Bank House, Rothesay, Isle of Bute.

He died in Stirlingshire, Stirling on 13 September 1965.

Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with some research. Lawson was awarded a 1914-15 Star but, assuming that this was lost, had another privately engraved to complete his WWI trio.
