Hiram John Wild was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire on 28 February 1879. He served with the 1/5th Royal Worcestershire Regiment in France from 22 March 1915 and was discharged, at the age of 40, on 13 May 1919.
According to the 1921 census he was a Lapping Tuber in the employ of the Dunlop Rubber Company living at 40 Salisbury Road, Saltley, Birmingham. He was still at the same address pursuing the same occupation when the 1939 Register was taken and still living there when he passed away on 27 December 1957.
