William James Windsor was born in 1891 He served with the Royal Naval Reserve in WWI and was commissioned an Engineer on 10.8.1915. He served aboard the Royal Fleet Auxiliary "Carol" and was demobilised on 11.11.1919. He moved to South Africa for a short time where he was employed in the Mining Industry being awarded the SA Red Cross Medal for First Aid in Mining in 1931.
