Daniel Edward Price was born in Greenock East, Renfrewshire in 1894. He served with the Army Service Corps in WWI and was posted to the Egyptian theatre on 22 March 1915. Having survived the war he was sent with his regiment to India where, in the LG of 31 August 1920, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for valuable services in India in connection with the war (dated 3 June 1919)
The LG makes mention that he was a Maryhill man - Maryhill is an area in the north-west of Glasgow in Scotland.
