William Charles Bates is thought to have been born in Newchurch, Lancs in 1895. He served with the RAMC in WWI and was awarded the Serbian Silver Medal for Zealous Service in the London Gazette of 24 February 1920.

A Slipper Worker and Slugger working for a shoe manufacturer according to the 1921 England census, he died at the age of 27 in 1922.

Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with some research.
