Charles Cuerden was born in Bengal, India in 1879. Following in his father, Thomas', footsteps he served as a Conductor with the Military Works Service (Commissary) until retiring with the equivalent rank of Major in 1933. He had been commissioned towards the end of WWI.
A resident of the Island of Jersey, he was evacuated from there just prior to the German occupation in WWII. His address on the island was Glen Link, Plat Douet Road, Bagot, Jersey.
He died in Hitchin, Hertfordshire in 1960
