John Reginald Bulman was born in Croyde, Devon ON 23 April 1923. At the time of the 1939 Register he was a Student living with his parents at "Breezelands", Barnstaple. 

Bulman was serving with the Reconnaisance Branch of the Royal Armoured Corps in WWII when he Died of Wounds sustained in action in France on 12 August 1944. He was educated at Chalenor's School and Taunton School where he excelled in sports and was a keen member of the Boy Scout movement. On leaving school he was articled to Mr TC Friend, an architect and surveyor of Barnstaple and was an active member of the Home Guard which he joined on its inauguration, before volunteering for service.

After nearly two years in the ranks he went through an OCTU course and was specially selected for training at Sandhurst. From there he was commissioned to the Reconnaisance Corps and posted to the 2nd Derbyshire Yeomanry. He was twice wounded. the first time within two days of his arrival in France, on 16 July when he remained at his post and was continually in action. He finally received wounds on August 12th from which he died. He was posthumously Mentioned in Dispatches in the LG of 10 May 1945 for gallant and distinguished service in North West Europe.

Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with some research.
