604 PTE R.MADGE. MARSHALL'S HORSE. Robert Daw Madge was born in Clerkenwell, London in 1869. He served in Marshall's Horse from 15 November 1899. After his father's death in 1880 the family emigrated to South Africa serving with Marshall's Horse in the Cape Colony and Orange Free State.
He was a widower and a Farmer in the Uitenhage are of the Eastern Cape when he remarried in 1914. He passed away on his farm in Addo, outside Uitenhage on 1 July 1921.
