2046 TPR: E.M.NORTH. KITCHENER'S F.S. From Sheffield, Yorkshire, Ernest Matthew North was born in 1877. He attested on 17.2.1902 at Greenpoint, Cape Town for service with Kitchener's Fighting Scouts and was discharged on 6.7.1902 in Johannesburg. Aged 25, he was 5 feet 4 inches and weighed 143 lbs. He had a fair complexion, blue eyes and fair hair and was a Labourer by occupation on attestation. His next-of-kin was his mother, Mrs Beaumont, of 85 Brunswick Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire.
