Henry Elliott was born in 1868 and was a Cook when attested with 1st Brabant's Horse at Grahamstown on 11.5.1900 for service in the Anglo Boer War. and was discharged on 30.8.1900. Those who earned the Wittebergen clasp were involved in the iconic action in the Brandwater Basin in the eastern Orange Free State which led to the surrender of general Prinsloo and thousands of Boer combatants in early July 1900. The clasps are verified on the roll.
