William Henry Steevens from Taunton in Somerset a 19 year old carpenter and joiner enlisted on 9th December 1914 as Carpenter's Crew, advanced Joiner 4th Class 1st October 1915, serving throught WWI on HMS Bellerophon. Bellerophon was present at the Battle of Jutland but played only a minor part and suffred no casualties. After the war Steevens served on until 10th Dec 1936
