W.H. Spratt served with 89 Field Coy. R.E. in France & Germany. He was WIA on 19.7.1944 and went on to serve in Canal Zone and earn an Efficiency Medal. The Canal Zone clasp was awarded for 30 days continuous service between 16 October 1951 – 19 October 1954 within certain specified geographical boundaries in Egypt. This clasp was awarded some 50 years later in October 2003 following representation to the Prime Minister.
