William George Francis served with the Royal Fusiliers, enlisting on 4 November 1915, before moving on to the Machine Gun Corps (146526) with whom he was WIA on 13 September 1918. He was discharged on 17 October 1918 and was awarded Silver War Badge B662239 for wounds received in action.
