1572 Frederick Seymour Barron, 19th Hussars. Born Liverpool 1856. Attested 2.9.1875. Deserted Leeds 31.12.1875. Regular Gonorrhoea & Syphilis sufferer. A Clerk by occupation when he attested, he had a poor disciplinary record and an even worse medical one being treated for Gonorrhoea and Syphilis many times, especially whilst stationed in Ireland. As a result his character was rated as Indifferent.

In 1882, the regiment deployed to Egypt, fighting at Tel el-Kebir in September of that year. It went on to serve in the Sudan during the Mahdist War.

Barron was discharged to 16 Conrad St. Abbey Grove, Bolton, Lancs. Copy service papers are included.
