Joseph Norman Price was born in Wallsall, Staffordshire in 1902. He enlisted with the Army in 1919 and transferred into the Royal Army Pay Corps with no. 25090, later changing to no. 7658072. He was posted to Iraq and in 1922 was serving in the Command Pay office in Baghdad. He was awarded the LSGCM Gratuity in 1937.
Commissioned Lt (Assistant Paymaster) on 6 October 1941 he was posted, on 19 September 1946, to 83 RAPC Battalion in Meerut, India. Promotion to Major followed on 17 April 1950 with the award of the MSM (rank WO1) without Annuity in 1953.
Price died in Sheffield in January 1970.
