Albert Henry Haynes was a CSM who was commissioned on the General List and attached as part of the West African Field Force in WWII. He was promoted Captain (QM) on 23 May 1946 and transferred into the Royal Sussex Regiment as Captain wef 2 October 1943.
Awarded the Efficiency Medal on 12 August 1947 he transferred into to Royal Army Pay Corps as Captain and QM on 23 September 1952 and was posted with the regiment to Kenya where the Mau Mau Rebellion/Uprising was taking place in 1953. He relinquished his commission on completion of service 10 June 1960.
