1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Defence Medal; War Medal 1939-45 - unnamed as issued with condolence award slip and original box of issue addressed to J. Maxwell. Esq., 12 Eskdale Terrace, Cullercoats, Northumberland.

Charles William Maxwell was born in Cullercoats, Northumberland on 20 July 1921. According to the 1939 Register he was an Apprentice Joiner living with his parents at 12 Eskdale Terrace, Tynemouth.

Having joined 89 Squadron of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, he was based at Abu Sueir in Egypt when he Died in Service on 24 December 1942.

He is commemorated on the Moascar War Cemetery outside Cairo.

Medals are in good condition unless indicated otherwise. Sold with some research.
