Arthur Llewellyn Cox was born in Gillingham, Kent in 1920. According to the 1939 Register he was an Aircraft Body Builder living at 36 Wyles Street, Gillingham. He enlisted with the Leicestershire Regiment on 12 June 1941 for service in WWII and was transferred to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps serving in the UK until 19 July 1944 when he embarked for North West Europe.
Post-war he served in Japan and Korea and was promoted to Warrant Officer rank and RSM on 14 November 1955. He was awarded the Coronation 1953 medal as a WO with the RAOC and earned the LSGCM in 1961. He was commissioned in 1964, rising to Captain in 1966 before relinquishing his commission on completion of service on 22 October 1971
He died at Garden Gate Public House in Aldershot (he was the Landlord) on 10 June 1972.
