Charles Elias Benzecry was born in Gibraltar in 1900. Having moved to England at some point before 1911 he was commissioned into the Royal Army Pay Corps in 1940, being promoted to Lieutenant and Paymaster in 1942. He saw service in France & Germany towards the latter stage of WWII but was not in the theatre long enough to qualify for the 1939-45 Star.
According to the 1939 Register he was a Merchant/Travelling Agent with an address 502 Frobisher House in the City of Westminster. The above address was where his medals were posted to on 16 July 1948
He died in Weybridge, Surrey in 1980.
