George James Checksfield was born in Cranston, Kent in 1921. He attested for service in WWII with the Royal Artillery and Served with the Heavy Anti Aircraft of the Royal Artillery in WWII in France & Germany. He was discharged on 25.4.1946
The confirmed absence of the 1939-45 Star in his group of medals implies that he didn't see 180 days of operational service in an operational command in order to earn it.
He passed away in Ashford, Kent in 1967.
