Frank Joseph Alfred Fry was born in Portsmouth on 10 November 1907. He was a Flight Sergeant when he was granted an Emergency Commission in the London Gazette of 23 December 1941 (with seniority from 16 September 1941) as an Acting Pilot Officer in the Technical Branch.

By 1944 he had been advanced to Flight Lieutenant.

He died in Bexhill East, Sussex on 16 July 1982.
