William Mowat was born in Glasgow in 1913. He attested with the 2nd Bn Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders and saw service with them in the Far East as part of Headquarters Company. He was listed as Missing with the fall of Singapore on 15 February 1942 whereupon it was discovered that he was a Prisoner of War.

He died from Enteritis whilst in captivity as a Japanese POW on 1.3.1942 at the notorious Pudu Camp in Malaya. 

Sold with some copied research. Medals are in good condition unless otherwise indicated.
