Frederick Charles Renders was born in St Pancras, London in 1910. According to the 1939 Register was a Postal Sorter living at 243 Northampton Buildings, Finsbury. With the outbreak of WWII Renders enlisted with the Royal Artillery on 30.1.1941, first serving with the 39th Signal Training Regiment before moving on to the 81 Field Regt with whom he was Wounded in Action in Western Europe on 8.2.1945. 

The unit was formed as 1 Welsh Brigade Royal Field Artillery (TF) in February 1920 at Swansea. It became 81 (Welsh) Brigade RFA (TA) in 1921. The Brigade changed title again in June 1924 to 81 (Welsh) Field Brigade Royal Artillery (TA). 81 (Welsh) Field Brigade was re-designated 81 (Welsh) Field Regiment RA (TA) in November 1938 with two batteries. In December 1940 a third battery was formed. Post war 81 (Welsh) Field Regiment RA (TA) went into suspended animation in June 1946 and was re-constituted as 281 (Welsh) Field Regiment RA (TA) in January 1947.

Renders had previous service in the Royal West Kent Regiment (6340778). He was discharged 6 May 1946 and died in Brighlingsea Essex in 1986.
