Donald Edward Albert Balson McDonough was born in Devonport in 1919. He was Mentioned in Dispatches in the LG of 15 August 1944 when an Petty Officer Air Mechanic aboard HMS Illustrious for distinguished services in the planning and successful execution of air operations against the Japanese at Sabang and Soerabaja.. He was awarded the Naval LGSCM.
He died in Kingsbridge, Devon in 1995.
