Clifton Francis Millard was born in Kingston, Surrey on 10 December 1901/1902 - He attested for service with the Royal Engineers in 1920, serving with them in Shanghai, China from 1927/1928. During WWII he served in West Africa from 5 August 1940 until 13 January 1942. He was awarded his LSGCM in 1938 and his Meritorious Service Medal after being discharged to the Reserve after 25 years service in 1945.
He later saw service with the War Department Constabulary, earning the Police Medal with them. He died in Taunton, Somerset in 1984
