J58569/SS125286 Stoker 1st Class Harry James Mitchell was born in Falkirk, Stirlingshire in 1901. He attested with the Royal Navy as a Boy on 28.2 1917 and was taken on strength when he reached his 18th birthday on 4 January 1919. He served in WWI aboard, primarily the Caradoc, and was transferred with no. SS125286 for further service. This came to an end when he was invalided out of the service on 13 July 1921 with Urethral Discharge.

He later served in the Far East in WWII earning the unusual combination (his full entitlement) of the Burma Star and War Medal 1939-45. He celebrated his Silver Wedding anniversary in April 1949 and died only a few months later, on 31 August 1949 at 23 Kennard Street, Falkirk - the same address his WWII medals were sent to.

He is additionally entitled to a British War Medal and Victory Medal for WWI - these are not included.

Sold with some copied research and a number of original photographs and a wad of Japanese (Dollar) bank notes of varying denominations. Medals are in good condition unless otherwise indicated.
