Private John Ripken served with the 7th West Riding Regt in France & Germany. He was born in 1925 and was reported as Wounded in Action in North West Europe in June 1944
He was awarded the 1977 Jubilee medal as a Northumbria Police Constable.
He died in North Tyneside in September 2000.
