Stanley George Compton was born in Salisbury, Wilts in 1921. He joined the RA as a Gunner and was deployed with them to Palestine 1945-48 earning the General Service Medal with them there. According to the 1939 Register he was a Munitions Worker living at 2 Frances Villas in Salisbury, Wiltshire. 

With the outbreak of WWII he re-enlisted and was posted to the L.A.A. on 3 June 1943 later seeing action in France & Germany. Stanley passed away in Salisbury in 2014

His medals were only claimed and issued on 30 July 1987
