4546540 Sjt. Robert Edward Drewery. Born 1.9.1922. Duke of Wellington's Regiment (West Riding). He was Wounded in Action, Italy 18.12.1944. But remained on duty.

According to the 1939 Register, Drewery was a Cinema Door Attendant living in Kingston-Upon-Hull, Yorkshire (East Riding). He passed away in Humberside (Hull) in December 1995.

By the end of WWII, 1st Battalion was in Palestine, where it remained until 1947. The two regular battalions were merged in 1948, before moving to Germany in 1951.

The GSM Palestine 1945-48 clasp was awarded for 1 days service between 27th September 1945 and 30th June 1948.

Entitled to WWII medals which are not with the group.
