The Royal Green Jackets (RGJ) have been deployed to Northern Ireland on multiple occasions, including during the "Troubles":
1969: The 1st Royal Green Jackets were deployed to Northern Ireland for their first tour of duty, which lasted from August 20 to December 18 - and in 1995–96 and 2003–04 where the 2nd Battalion was deployed to Northern Ireland.
