SS.5973 F. WOODS. A.B.R.N. Fred Woods was born in Preston, Lancs on 26.5.1897. He was a Cotton Weaver when he enlisted with the R.N. on 2.6.1915 and was discharged on 5.6.1921. The 1939 Register has a Frederick H Woods, a Cotton Weaver, born on 29 May 1897 living in Nelson, Lancs which could well be him.
Most of his WWI service was aboard Cleopatra and Dauntless.
