"In recognition of their services in mine sweeping operations between the 1st April and 31st December 1917.

Boreas was a hired trawler fitted with 1 6pdr gun.

Thomas Owen was born on 11th Septmber 1885. He joined the Royal Navy Reserve on  30th June 1913 giving his address as 26 Coombe Street, Grimsby. called to service with the Royal Navy on 4th August 1914.
