Father: Colonel Harold Tom (sometimes Toma Harold) Bisgood was born in Bayswater, London in 1884. He enlisted with the 2nd Battalion, London Regiment with no. 3254 and went to France with them on 28 October 1915. He kept a comprehensive diary of his time in the theatre of war (a copy is enclosed as part of the research) and was discharged from the army in May 1918 as a result of wounds sustained in action. He was awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the London Gazette of 31 December 1916. In the 1920's he rejoined the army - enlisting with the 1st Bn Royal Fusiliers helping to form the Hounslow Company. He commanded the 3rd Cadet Battalion, Royal Fusiliers. In 1902 he was a member of the Home Guard and served on the ARP Committee for which service he was awarded the M.B.E. in 1946 (LG 13.6.1946) as a Lt. Colonel in the A.C.F. He served as a Justice of the Peace, County Councilor and Army Welfare Officer, passing away in Hounslow in 1962. According to the 1939 Register he was living on Private Means at Lampton Hall, Lampton Road, Hounslow and was Chairman of the Local ARP Committee.
Son: Douglas Norman Bisgood was born on 13 February 1929 and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant with the Royal Fusiliers in September 1949 (his number was 403395). He saw service with them in Malaya and resigned his commission on 31 July 1952. He died ion Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in 2004.
