Ernest Wilson was born in 1879 and appears to have spent most, if not all, of his life in India where, on 1 .9.1900 he was commissioned on the Indian Miscellaneous List. He served in WWI and, from his MIC card appears to have been awarded the British War Medal only - this was issued in India by the Indian Authorities.
He was awarded the M.B.E. (London Gazette 3 June 1929) as the Assistant Commissary and Lieutenant Ernest Wilson, Indian Miscellaneous List, Superintendent, General Staff Branch, Army Headquarters, India.
Ernest Wilson was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for ‘Home Service’ in India during the Great War. .
