Harry was born on 18th January 1894 and, in 1910, took up a position with the Electrical Department of the Telegraph Construction and Maintenance Company. As a Territorial Harry was mobilised in August 1914 as a Corporal in the London Electrical Engineers. He served in France as a Captain in the Royal Engineers. He was Mentioned in Dispatches and awarded the Military Cross ‘for distinguished service in the field’ in 1917. He was a Wireless Expert at GHQ and Corps HQ of the 6th Corps.

According to the 1921 Census he was an Electrical Engineer (Submarine Cable) working for the Telegraph Construction and Maintenance Company.

Harry served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve in WW2 as an Acting Temporary Lieutenant Commander, appointed 
25 Jan 1941 HMS Osprey Manning Port, Devon. Ship formerly Steam Launch No. 248. Anti-Submarine Fixed Defence Instructional Section. Special Branch.

He passed away on 12 February 1979 in Knockholt, Kent
