S290978/29225 Pte Archibald Brown ASC/E York R was born in Balsall Heath in 1891. The award of the Military Medal appeared in the London Gazette of 21.10.1918. His service papers described him as "Honest sober & thoroughly trustworthy" He served as a Special Constable and earned the Long Service 1952 clasp.

According to the 1939 Register he was an Incorporated Accountant living at 47 Silhill Hall Road, Solihull, Warwickshire which is where he passed away in 1959
