Military Medal GVR (3-8312 PTE. W. OTHICK. 2/YORK:R.)
William Othick served in both the 2nd and 3rd Bns of the Yorkshire Regiment. He was born in Guiseley, Yorkshire in 1889 and went to France on 14.11.1914 where in his four years at the front, he fought at Ypres, Somme and Arras. He was reputed to have been WIA on 3 occasions the dates of two of which are known -22.11.1915 and 30.8.1917. He was awarded the Military Medal per LG 25.5.1917

Othick is also entitled to a 1914 Star with clasp, British War Medal and Victory Medal which are not included. His BWM sold at Hansons Auctioneers on June 15, 2023.
