Malcolm Ross Wharton was born in Stockton, Cheshire in 1921. He enlisted with 81 Anti Aircraft Bde, Royal Artillery (TA) on 30.3.1939 and transferred to 128 Heavy Anti Aircraft Bde in 1942. Having survived the war, he was posted to the Reserve on 17.7.1946. He was awarded the Efficiency Medal in the same year.
81 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) served in the UK until going to Egypt in August 1942. 128 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) was formed at Whiston, Rotherham in August 1941. The Regiment served in Anti-Aircraft Command for its entire war.
He died in Stockport in 1986.
