35 years after the last clasp (Somaliland 1920) was issued, Army Order 15 of 1955 sanctioned the award of the Kenya clasp for service between 21st October 1952 and 17th November 1956.
Awarded for 91 days or more service against the Mau-Mau, during which struggle 12 British soldiers were killed and a further 578 members of the various security forces operating during the period.
