Awarded on the Army of India Medal 1799-1826.
The assault on the fortress of Alighur took place on 4th September 1803. Awarded to four companies of 76th Foot as well as the Bengal Native infantry.
Approximately 60 clasps awarded to Europeans and not seen as a single bar with the exception of the medal to Sepoy Sunkhar Bhowan, 23rd Native Infantry.
Also present were a few men from 27th and 29th Light Dragoons, Bengal Light cavalry and 2 guns of Bengal Artillery.
